To find out more about osteopathy, telephone:
Osteopathy was founded in 1874 by an American physician Dr Andrew Taylor Still. Originally developed as a manual approach to the treatment of disease, osteopathy today is primarily a system of diagnosis and ‘hands-on’ treatment for problems of the musculo-skeletal system. It is unique in how it applies anatomy and physiology to relate one mechanical problem to another and how such problems can sometimes interfere with internal function. In addition to standard orthopaedic and neurological tests, osteopathy has its own diagnostic methods. Using a variety of both joint and soft tissue manipulative techniques, treatment works towards the correction of joint misalignment and the resolution of muscular contraction and tension problems.
Pain felt to be muscular is often due to joint restriction or misalignment!
